TAMWA ZNZ yazindua Tuzo ya uwiano wa kijinsia kwa Vyombo vya
Habari: “Kalamu Yangu, Mchango Wangu kwa Wanawake.”
Chama cha Waandishi wa Habari Wanawake Tanzania, Zanzibar (TAMWA ZNZ) kwa
kushirikiana na Jumuiya ya Wanawake wenye Ulemavu Zanzibar (JUWAUZA), Jumuiya
ya Wanasheria Wanawake Zanzibar (ZAFELA) na Jumuiya ya mazingira, Jinsia na
Utetezi Pemba (PEGAO) tuna furaha kutangaza rasmi uzinduzi wa Tuzo ya uwiano
wa kijinsia kwa Vyombo vya Habari “Media for Gender Equity Awards” yenye
ujumbe unaosema “Kalamu Yangu, Mchango Wangu kwa Wanawake.” Tuzo hii
itatambua vyombo vya habari na waandishi wa habari Zanzibar vinavyoandika habari
za kina kuhusu mafanikio, changamoto, michango ya wanawake katika uongozi, na
vinavyoshiriki kikamilifu katika kukuza usawa wa kijinsia kupitia kazi zao.
Malengo ya Tuzo
Kupitia tuzo hii, TAMWA ZNZ inalenga kuhamasisha vyombo vya habari na waandishi
wa habari kuunga mkono sauti za wanawake na kuk
uza uandishi wa habari wenye
kuzingatia usawa wa kijinsia ili kuchangia mabadiliko ya kijamii kwa kuonesha nafasi
za wanawake na uwezo wao katika uongozi ili kuleta maendeleo.
Utambuzi wa vyombo vya habari:
Mara hii tuzo hizi zinalenga zaidi kutambua vyombo vya habari vyenye mtiririko mzuri
wa kusaidia kuongeza wanawake katika nafasi za uongozi. Hivyo vigezo
vitakavyotumika ni kuwa na sera ya kijinsia, dawati la kijinsia, zana za tathmini na
ufuatiliaji wa masuala ya usawa wa kijinsia, idadi ya habari zilizoandikwa kuhusu
wanawake na uongozi na nafasi ya wanawake waandishi wa habari katika chombo
cha habari. Mradi wa SWIL uliwahi kuwapa mafunzo na kusaidia vyombo vya habari 11 kutoka Unguja na Pemba kuandika na kuweka kumbukumbu na kufanya ufuatiliaji
na tathmini katika kipindi cha mwaka 2022 hadi 2023. Hivyo tunaamini kuna vyombo
vimeweza kuleta mabadiliko makubwa na vinahitaji kutambuliwa na kuthaminiwa.
Tunzo hii itahusisha kazi zilizotolewa na waaandishi wa habari katika
vyombo vya habari vya aina nne (4) kama ifuatavyo:
Uandishi wa habari za Makala katika magazeti (feature articles).
Uandishi wa habari wa vipindi katika redio (radio program).
Uandishi wa habari katika Televisheni (TV program).
Uandishi wa habari wa makala katika mitandao ya kijamii (feature articles in social
media story).
Vigezo muhimu vya kuzingatia ni;
Ubora wa kazi iliyowasilishwa.
Upekee wa mada.
Umuhimu wa kuzingatia uwiano sawa wa jinsia.
Vyanzo vingi vya habari vilivyojitawanya.
Ubunifu wa mada husika.
Matokeo baada ya kutoka habari au kipindi hicho (impact).
Uwasilishaji wa mada husika.
Mpangilio wa mada.
Ufasaha na mtiririko wa lugha.
Kuzingatia maadili ya uandishi wa habari.
Uweledi na matumizi ya TAKWIMU.
Kipindi cha Redio na Television kisizidi dakika 30 na pia sauti na picha ziwe katika
ubora unaostahiki.
Kipindi au makala iliyochapishwa au kurushwa HEWANI katika vyombo mbali
mbali vya habari vikiwemo magazeti, runinga, redio na mitandao ya kijamii katika
kipindi cha kuanzia Januari 1 hadi Disemba 31, 2024.
Kama ilivyokuwa kwenye vyombo vya habari SWIL pia ilikaa na waaandishi wa habari
170 kwa mafunzo na majadiliano kuhusu kuandika habari nzuri za wanawake na
uongozi. Kiasi cha waandishi wa habari 45 wametambuliwa kwa kuandika habari za
kuongeza ushiriki wa wanawake kuanzia 2021 hadi 2023.
Mchakato wa Uwasilishaji na Vigezo vya Tathmini
Dirisha la kupokea kazi liko wazi kuanzia kwa waandishi wa habari kutoka vyombo vya
habari mbalimbali Zanzibar, ikiwemo magazeti, televisheni, redio, na mitandao ya
kijamii. Jopo la majaji, likiwa na wataalamu wa uandishi wa habari na utetezi wa
kijinsia, litapitia kazi za vyombo vya habari na za waandishi wa habari mapema Januari
baada ya kukamilika kwa zoezi la ukusanyaji kazi.
Maombi yamefunguliwa leo na kazi zitaendelea kupokelewa hadi tarehe 5 Januari,
Waandishi wa habari wanaweza kuwasilisha kazi zao ambazo zimezalishwa
kuanzia Januari hadi Disemba, 2024 moja kwa moja Ofisi za TAMWA ZNZ zilizopo Tunguu na Mkanjuni Chakechake Pemba, au kupitia barua pepe ya info@tamwaznz.or.tz na kiungo/link itakayotumwa kwenye mitandao ya kijamii.

Tunawakaribisha waandishi wa habari na vyombo vya habari kushiriki katika tuzo hizi
muhimu, ili habari zenu ziwe ushahidi wa nguvu ya uandishi wa habari katika kuleta

TAMWA ZNZ Launches Media for Gender Equity Awards: “My Pen, My
Contribution to Women.”
Tanzania Media Women’s Association, Zanzibar (TAMWA ZNZ), in collaboration with
the Organization of Women with Disabilities in Zanzibar (JUWAUZA), Zanzibar Female
Lawyers Association (ZAFELA), and the Pemba Environmental, Gender, and Advocacy
Organization (PEGAO), is pleased to officially announce the launch of the “Media for
Gender Equity Awards” under the theme “My Pen, My Contribution to
Women.” This award aims to recognize media houses and journalists in Zanzibar who
report in-depth on women’s achievements, challenges, and contributions in leadership,
and who actively participate in promoting gender equality through their work.
Award Objectives
Through this award, TAMWA ZNZ aims to encourage media outlets and journalists to
amplify women’s voices and foster gender-sensitive journalism to drive social change
by highlighting women’s roles and potential in leadership for societal advancement.
Media Recognition
This year’s awards will focus on recognizing media outlets that effectively support the
increase of women in leadership positions. Criteria will include the presence of a
gender policy, a gender desk, gender equality monitoring and evaluation tools, the
number of stories written on women and leadership, and the position of female
journalists within the media house. The SWIL project previously provided training and
support to 11 media outlets from Unguja and Pemba in documenting, monitoring, and
evaluating gender issues from 2022 to 2023. We believe these media houses have
achieved significant progress and deserve recognition.
The award will cover work produced by journalists in four media categories
as follows:
Feature articles in print newspapers.
Radio programs.
Television programs.
Social media feature articles.
Key Criteria
Quality of work submitted.
Uniqueness of the topic.
Importance of promoting gender equality.
Diversity of information sources.
Creativity in the topic.
Impact of the story or program after publication or airing.
Presentation of the topic.
Organization of the subject matter.
Clarity and flow of language.
Adherence to journalistic ethics.
Proficiency in data use.
Radio and TV programs should not exceed 30 minutes, and sound and image quality
must meet standard requirements. Programs or articles should have been published
or aired in various media platforms, including print, TV, radio, and social media,
between January 1 and December 31, 2024.
Through the SWIL project, 170 journalists have undergone training and discussions
on quality reporting on women and leadership. A total of 45 journalists have been
recognized for writing stories on enhancing women’s participation from 2021 to 2023.
Submission Process and Evaluation Criteria
The submission window is open for journalists from various media outlets in Zanzibar,
including newspapers, television, radio, and social media. A panel of judges,
comprising journalism and gender advocacy experts, will review the submissions early
in January, following the collection period.
Applications are open starting today, and submissions will be accepted until January
5, 2025. Journalists can submit their work produced between January and December
2024 directly to the TAMWA ZNZ offices located in Tunguu Unguja and Mkanjuni
Chakechake Pemba, or via email at info@tamwaznz.or.tz, as well as via a link provided
on social media.

Now in their fourth edition, these awards are organized under the Strengthen Women
in Leadership (SWIL) program in partnership with the Royal Norwegian Embassy. The
awards are a continuing initiative aimed at increasing women’s participation in
leadership and strengthening democratic engagement.
