TAMWA is a national level Non-Governmental Organization known as Tanzania Media Women’s Association formed in 1987. TAMWA Zanzibar became fully self-governing and operational in both Isles of Unguja and Pemba since 2004. In January 2007, it attained its own separate registration.

TITLE OF ACTIVITY: PRODUCTION OF TV SPOT

PROJECT: ADVANCING MEDIA ADVOCACY TO RURAL AND URBAN WOMEN AND GIRLS’ IN SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RIGHTS (SRHR) IN TANZANIA

1.0 BACKGROUND

Tanzania Media Women’s Association is a national Non-Governmental Organization founded in 1987 and dedicated to working towards promotion of the rights of women and children in Zanzibar. TAMWA -Zanzibar became fully fledged office in 2004 and was reregistered in 2007. TAMWA-Zanzibar is currently implementing the project titled “Advancing Media advocacy to Rural and Urban Women and Girls’ in Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) in Tanzania” aimed to enrich and empower media practitioners’ skills in promoting sexual and reproductive health rights outcomes in Tanzania. The project will be undertaken in three districts of Zanzibar, two districts in Unguja and one district in Pemba. These are Unguja West B and Central districts and Pemba Chakechake. The project will be in partnership between TAMWA- ZNZ and TAMWA Mainland with the support from Wellspring USA.

2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The company/dealer will be responsible for the following aspects:

  • Understand the SRHR issues in Urban and rural in Tanzania with particular reference to Zanzibar.
  • Read the project document effectively.
  • Prepare a script of the TV spot Production.
  • Produce TV spot Program based on sensitize the public on Family planning (FP) methods.
  • Present the TV spot Program to TAMWA staff and incorporate the input.
  • Work closely with Program Officer, and Communication team to fulfill the intended objectives.
  • Submit a DVD/ Flash Disk to TAMWA Office as planned.

3.0 COMPETENCIES OF THE PRODUCER IN A COMPANY

  • Excellent analytical on Sexual Reproductive Health Right issues
  • Excellent communication (spoken, written and presentational) and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent writing, reporting and analysis skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in and with teams.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.

4.0: REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Working experience

  • At least 5 years of proven work experience on video animation production.
  • Must have knowledge concerning Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR)
  • Knowledge and understanding of national or local authorities’ plans, policy, laws and budget, citizen engagement and good governance at large.
  • Understanding the local context and the perception of the community about SRHR on the issue of Family Planning methods

5.0: TIME FRAME

The assignment is required to be carried from 28TH February to 10th March, 2025

6.0: CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Any part to the contract is free to withdraw on clear elaborated ground within a one-month notice.

7. 0 TERMS OF PAYMENTS FOR THE CONSULTANT

NB: The producer will be paid for two installments (before and after completion of the work).
