Zanzibar Gender Centre (ZGC) established with the primary goal of contributing to the reduction of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) incidents in Zanzibar and improving gender relations in social, political, and economic spheres. The ZGC will serve as a resource center for gender-related issues, providing training, materials, and facilitators. Additionally, it aims to generate income for TAMWA, Zanzibar (TAMWA ZNZ) to support both internal and external expenses. TAMWA ZNZ, an organization with a history of advocating for gender equality, has already made progress in constructing the ZGC building and seeks further funding to complete the first floor and initiate its operations. The income-generating activities planned include gender training for communities and students, organizing debates on gender issues, producing gender materials, initiating girls' clubs, and renting out spaces to like-minded organizations.
